Penelope’s Melancholy Collection – 2014
Penelope’s Melancholy (2014) draws on classical mythology as a point of reflection, reinterpreting the figure of Penelope as a symbol of patience, longing, and emotional endurance. Created during an early stage of my practice, the series explores how myth can hold personal and psychological meaning.
Through oil and mixed-media works, these paintings investigate themes of resilience and waiting, while also introducing an early interest in layered surfaces and textile-like visual structures that later evolved in my practice.
