Held Between 2024

Held Between (2024) is a mixed-media collection of acrylic paintings, drawings, and collage that reflects on states of in-betweenness, emotional, cultural, and psychological. Centered on female figures positioned within shifting, indeterminate spaces, the works explore identity as something shaped through memory, transition, and lived experience between Iran and the United States.
Through layered surfaces and fragmented forms, the series considers the tension between holding on and letting go, where presence is constantly negotiated across time, place, and memory.
